Requiem for classical music on the radio

Redskins Owner Set to Buy Last Classical Station

Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has reached a preliminary agreement to buy classical music station WGMS-FM in a deal that would expand his budding sports-talk radio empire and likely be the swan song for the area's only classical outlet.

This would be a terrible blow to the cultural life of our community.

Bonneville is owned by the Mormon Church and characterizes itself as a "values driven company". The value here appears to be greed.

Perhaps a campaign to inquire about their values might be useful: 801-575-7500.

In case you've forgotten, Adolf Hitler and Communist Russia only played Dead White European Culture music. Shouldn't we be supporting AMERICAN music?

And aren't you supposed to be supporting our free enterprise system and not Communism? Aren't you supposed to be supporting AMERICA? What is it you hate about ordinary people who work for a living? What is it you hate about giving the public what it wants? What is it you hate about AMERICA? And if you hate America so much, why don't you get the hell out of America and go to Surrender Monkey Land?

And how big was your celebration on Sept. 11?

I thought about rejecting the above comment, it is not as if it adds anything to the discussion of any topic. But I decided that there is some purpose served by documenting the level of angry non thought in our public discourse.
