What should a newspaper do if circulation is declining?
The London Evening Standard hired 20 additional reporters with an eye to boosting its business coverage. Improve the product, what a concept. Let’s hope other publications take note.

Yes - there's quite a lot of product innovation going on in the UK print press with the Guaridan reformating to Berliner size, The Times going tabloid, this revamp at the Evening Standard, and a new format at The Observer in the works.
We really need this in the US where the formats of many local newspapers definitely need a facelift and a rethink to make them more accessible, entertaining and informative.

The last thing the American press should do is try to be more entertaining. The Infotainment trend is killing them.
